Living A Dream
I had the Opportunity of a lifetime last Oct 2009. I had the priviledge of visiting a non working silver mine courtesy of a good friend and Mohave Underground. It was named after one of King Solomons mines and was in operation in 1870. It is located in Ophir, Utah. Ophir is mostly a ghost town now, however there are still a few residents. It's worth the trip up the canyon to Ophir just for the scenery. The mine is privately owned so special permission is required, plus it's locked. With our Guide-Jeff, who is a member of Mohave Underground, I spent 3 hours in heaven. The pics speak for themselves.
